Woodland United Methodist Tree

Our Mission

At Woodland Methodist Church, we depend on the Holy Spirit to guide our lives as we follow the example of Jesus Christ. We demonstrate God's love and forgiveness by caring for everyone. We provide a welcoming environment for all to worship God, study His Word, and grow in faith.

Our Past

Woodland Methodist Church was founded in 1955 when three Methodist churches in the community came together seeking to become a single stronger church centralized in the community in reaching its neighbors with the good news of Jesus Christ.  Throughout the years, the church has expanded its facilities and has been served by a number of faithful pastors.

Our Present

Woodland continues its vision of bringing people together by offering opportunities for worship, discipleship, community, and service. We are a church that welcomes all people into our doors. Our church provides Sunday school for all ages, special Bible studies throughout the week, opportunities to serve in local missions, Wednesday night suppers, and Wednesday night programming for all ages.

Our Future

Located in the one of Alabama's fastest-growing communities, we have a vision to grow with Pike Road.  We have plans to build a new sanctuary to accommodate growth within our church, and a vision to expand our present ministries while adding new ministries in the future as we seek to fulfill our mission of making disciples for Jesus Christ.

Our Values

We believe in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior and in his command to make disciples at home and around the world.
We live in God’s grace and forgiveness and value his constant presence, love and care for us.

We recognize faith in God gives meaning and purpose to our lives.

We believe worship through word, song and prayer serves as a vital connection to God.

We rely on the constant presence of the Holy Spirit to guide and direct our lives.

We depend on the power of prayer to sustain our faith.

We believe we are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus as we follow Him in his mission to serve those in need.

We embrace relationships with fellow believers to grow our faith and provide accountability necessary to transform lives.

We believe the Bible is God’s word to us and study it as a guide to sharing our faith and compassion for others.

We recognize we all are blessed with gifts and talents and are called to use them for God and His glory.

We accept the responsibility of providing a nurturing environment for our children to grow and thrive and to lead our youth to become disciples of Christ.

We believe that hospitality and fellowship connect usas a church family.

We recognize that God calls us to provide our gifts and tithes to advance his kingdom on earth.

We believe we are called to share the Word of God.

    Want to worship with us?

Woodland is a great place to make friends and connect with neighbors! Whether you are a senior adult, empty nester, young adult, or a busy parent, we’ve got a place for you! Our children and youth directors do a fantastic job ministering to our students. There are groups for adults to connect with too for Bible study, meals, and to make friendships in general. We offer a laid back traditional service, a causal contemporary service with a praise band, and a formal traditional service with a full choir and robed minister. Our services typically last no more than 50 minutes.
